The following students competed and earned recognition at the University of San Diego on Dec. 1st. In each category one winner was selected and possibly one alternate to compete at the state level if the winner could not compete. Honorable mentions were also awarded. These competitions were run by the California Association of Professional Music Teachers.
Peter was awarded 1st alternate in the Contemporary Festival for his performance of Bartok's Evening in the Country and Dello Joio's Street Cries.
Also in the Contemporary Festival, David received an Honorable Mention for his performance of York Bowen's Prelude No.19 and Prokofiev's Sonata No.3.
Christine competed in the Honors Auditions and earned an Honorable Mention. Christine's program included Sonata K.332 by Mozart, What the West Wind Saw by Debussy, and The Cat and the Mouse by Copland.
